Grab Macklemore’s Album ‘The Heist’ on Amazon for $1.99!

Last month I started to write what was essentially a love letter about Macklemore, but Robbie shamed me into not posting it. (Not really. Robbie doesn’t shame me. He did tease me about it though.)

Today’s Gold Box Deal of the Day from Amazon.com is just too good to pass up, so the love letter is revived.

For just $1.99 you can get the Deluxe Edition of Macklemore’s latest album, The Heist, featuring the now well-known hit Thrift Shop.

Let me tell you: that’s a bargain, b*tch.

Seriously though, this is a deal you cannot pass up. Macklemore is the voice of today’s generation. If you think all he has to offer is a catchy, in-your-face song about second-hand hedonism, you’re sorely mistaken.

Thrift Shop is a fun detour from an otherwise thought provoking and heartfelt album. If you give The Heist a listen and honestly tell me that it didn’t evoke some sort of introspection or it didn’t make you think about social issues affecting our society, then I call bullsh*t. Seriously, I don’t think it’s possible to listen to this album and come away with anything less than a moment of pause to think about what you’ve heard.

Macklemore tackles topics of consumerism (Wing$), gay marriage (Same Love), drug addiction (Starting Over), and race issues (A Wake), but balances the sobering side of the scale with light-hearted, playful songs like Gold and Castle.

Trust me, even if you don’t like Macklemore’s message, you’ll still find yourself stimulated by what he has to say. Give the album a listen. It’s worth far more than $1.99.
